v0.0.2 (Silver Street) Preview builds available


After a bit over a year since I took down the Unity build of Project Shinar, the Unreal Engine 5 build of the game has reached the point where it is playable! At this point, the main loop of the game works and many of the core level mechanics have been recreated fully.

It is important to note that this is a preview release: it does lack several key features, and it is likely to have quite a few bugs. However, the majority of the levels included in this build should be able to be completed. Key missing features are:

  • Settings (screen res, vsync, quality, etc) - although see below.
  • Level editor
  • Many level entities (some of which may prevent level completion at this time!)
  • NPC navigation grids
  • Built-in feedback system

If you play this, expect bugs - but if you do play it and have comments or feedback, please tell me in the comments, or on Mastodon, or on Discord.

Also note that this is a development build of the game - the shipping build will be much smaller!
