0.1.12 (Finsbury Park) released


This release is a (much delayed) update that includes a number of new features, bug fixes, and improvements from tester feedback, including:

  • New level component: signal generator. Signal generators can be activated by one of the robot beams (which depends on the signal generator settings), and they trigger the activation of one of 6 possible signals on the level. Sometimes the signal stays on until the generator is hit by the beam again, sometimes it turns off after a set period.
  • Added support for signal routing in levels so that items around the level can react to signal activation/deactivation.
  • Lifts can now react to signals.
    • KNOWN ISSUE: Currently lifts do not display an indicator of which signal they react to. 
    • KNOWN ISSUE: In some situations it's possible for a robot to end up walking 'into' a lift as it is moving, resulting in the robot ending up in an illegal position. 
  • New level component: barrier. Barriers block objects and beams, until deactivated with a signal.
  • Overhauled level select screen to use free-rotation camera for consistency with other scenes. The on-screen turn buttons have been removed.
  • Level select screen can have level geometry in the background! This could conceivably even have robots moving around on it.
  • Decided to make 36 levels per zone. The original plan was for 72 levels per zone, but the UI for this was going to become clunky. 
  • Tweaks have been made to sound levels and falloffs to try to balance volumes.
