Halting development in Unity
After the announcement by Unity today

I have decided to cease development of this game using the Unity engine and will be actively looking at rewriting it in another game engine, possibly Godot, O3DE, or Unreal.
While the chances of me being directly affected by this change are exceedingly remote, I find the idea of working with an engine developed by Unity to be abhorrent. Even if they backtrack on this utterly insane decision, this is merely the latest in a string of ethically objectionable decisions from the company. I can no longer in good conscience develop in the Unity engine, and who knows what steps Unity may take in future that may directly impact on my development or the viability of my game?
This is a very significant set-back to the development of this game: while quite a few features had yet to be added, almost all the core systems were fully functional. Rewriting the game to the same point in another engine is likely to take a year or more, but the options are either to do that rewrite or to abandon the game entirely.
